Susanne was born in Osnabrück in 1978 and founded her own production company CONKERTREE FILM in Cologne in 2004 after successfully
studying acting and journalism. Since then, she has scripted, directed and edited over 300 fiction and documentary productions. Susanne was also active as an actress until 2014, when she fully
dedicated herself to her passion, documentary film. The themes of her films are multi-layered, but always have to do with human longings and abysses. Direct cinema - i.e. the non-judgemental and
observational camera perspective - suits her best. The closeness and trust of her protagonists is very important to Susanne, so she often takes over the camera herself. Susanne works as a
freelance writer, director and editor. Her first film reference book was also published by UVK Verlag in 2014, which was republished in 2021. Susanne worked on her first feature documentary
film "Pink Elephants" for six years. This controversial film was released in cinemas by W-Film in 2018. Susanne shoots reports & feature documentaries, as well as documentary series for 3Sat,
ZDF, ZDF tivi and ARTE, among others.
